This Melanin Girl Meetup united wonderful women for a day of encouragement and networking!The #MelaninMeetUp brought people together for a day of networking, empowerment and advice on how to pursue their passions with purpose.On February 25, 2017 Melanin Girl Movement hosted the very first Melanin Girl Meetup in Atlanta, Georgia. If you were in the Atlanta area Open for Business was the place to be. Hosted by the wonderful founders Jasmine Merritt and Sylvia Whitlow, this event united women of all ages for a wonderful occasion. The Melanin Girl Meetup connected 50+ women who were able to listen to motivational stories from various panelists. Valuable lessons were shared throughout this event. Most importantly, people were able to connect and share goals and business ventures. Guests varied from bloggers, make up artists, naturalistas, motivational speakers, college students, non-profit organizational leaders and aspiring entrepreneurs. The event started with a day of mingling, networking and a chance to win a door prize and obtain sweet treats. The wonderful candy table was beautifully decorated by @EventsbyCCM! This was a wonderful event created and executed by: Sylvia Whitlow and Jasmine Merritt. Both ladies are from Montgomery, Alabama. Sylvia Whitlow is a University of Alabama graduate with a Bachelors of Science degree in Operational Management. Jasmine Merritt is a senior at The University of Alabama studying Public Health.
