The Birmingham Book Club made a tour stop in Atlanta! The Books x Brunch Club meeting at Milk and Honey was phenomenal! The meeting consisted of a wonderful women who encouraged each other, laughed and celebrated The Last Black Unicorn book over Brunch!

The Books and Brunch is a book club created to celebrate black history and culture through books. Books For Us, By Us!

The mission of Books and Brunch is to celebrate our history and culture, while learning more about who we are as people through books. Books and Brunch aims to bring exposure to books written by Black authors (specifically) Black Women. The main goal of Books and Brunch is to bring young millennial women together to empower, embrace and spread Black Girl Magic!

From stand-up comedian, actress, and breakout star of Girls Trip, Tiffany Haddish, comes The Last Black Unicorn, a hysterical, edgy, and unflinching collection of personal essays, by Tiffany Haddish.

Growing up in one of the poorest neighborhoods of South Central Los Angeles, Tiffany learned to survive by making people laugh. If she could do that, then her classmates would let her copy their homework, the other foster kids she lived with wouldn’t beat her up, and she might even get a boyfriend. Or at least she could make enough money—as the paid school mascot! This book is a must read!

I even ran into an old teammate and childhood friend, Kalyn Breeding! It's a small world! I am so glad I decided to attend The Books x Brunch Meet up in Atlanta, Georgia! I can't wait to attend the next one!

At The Books x Brunch Club Meeting, we discussed The Life of Tiffany Haddish from her perspective. Nonetheless, The Last Black Unicorn is very inspiring. Throughout Tiffany's trials and tribulations she persevered through molestation, being in the foster care system, and being homeless. Her story was very heartbreaking but she stayed resilient through it all.
